There are several types of Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus Radiata is often preferred for children and the elderly, over the common E. globulus, because it`s less likely to irritate the skin. Could consider using Rosalina as a milder substitute. Although Aromatherapist Valerie Worwood includes Eucalyptus radiata in her basic care kit for children, appropriately diluted and applied should be fine, but keep in mind that essential oils high in 1,8-cineol or menthol can cause breathing problems in small children. Caution Do not use on or near the face of a baby or young child.
