Note; Middle . Fresh, spicy, less floral than True Lavender, more camphoraceous. Near colorless.

Spike Lavender grows naturally at low altitudes, and True Lavender  (Lavender angustifolia) grows at high altitudes. This difference in growing conditions accounts for the camphor found in Spike Lavender. Although used in similar ways. It`s a sharper more camphorus cousin to True Lavender. Spike being more medicinal of the Lavenders, which makes it better analgesic and antiseptic. Spike Lavender has less relaxing properties than the true Lavender. Spike is not the one I suggest using on children because of the high 1,8 cineole. That would be the True Lavender for children.

Uses:  With the components camphor and 1,8 cineole makes for unwanted bacteria and fungal growth, Mucolytic (breaks down mucus, pulmonary). More antiseptic than other lavenders,. Camphor offers great circulatory properties, muscles, sprains, joints. Due to the high 1,8 cineole content, makes it Analgesic (pain), alleviate rheumatic conditions, anti-inflammatory, expectorant (decongestant, antitussive) treatment for bronchitis, sinusitis, respiratory tract infections, antispasmodic (reduce coughing, lengthening the breath).

Spike Lavender is especially good for headaches : Headache associated with Sinus Infection>

5 drops Spike Lavender

3 drops Eucalyptus (globulus)

4 drops Frankincense

2 drops Peppermint

Dilute oils in a 1 oz of carrier oil of choice and rub on the back of your neck and on your feet.

Suggest avoiding Spike Lavender anyone with Epilepsy with levels higher than 19% used topically.
